Do these 3 things to look more stylish today!

I know what you are thinking. Could this be the Holy Grail of styling advice? Will I suddenly become like the model in the glossy pictures in the magazines or like the perfect Instagram blogger, always perfectly styled and effortlessly chic?
Well, I will be honest with you, as I firmly believe I owe you at least my honesty: these three tips may not catapult you to Instagram fame or land you a modelling job.
But you know what? That’s perfectly okay!
Because I desire for you to look and feel good every day for every little activity you have to do. From taking kids to school, to grocery shopping, to meeting up with your friends, to going to work.
This is the space most of us live in and which is sadly neglected from a style perspective. We take a lot of effort to plan an outfit for a wedding, but do we take the same care in deciding what we will look like day to day?
Give your attention now to the current situation of your wardrobe choices. Take a moment to think of the items you wear most, day to day, and how they make you feel.
I will take a guess and say that one of those items would be “active wear”. Now, unless you are buying top of the range active wear as well as buying it regularly you probably (as I do too – remember, I am being honest) have that pair of saggy, worn gym tights that come out with you to the shops, school drop off and even to coffee dates with the girls (GASP!).
So my first piece of advice is this: upgrade your day to day, go-to outfit.
1. Instead of gym gear // wear a dress!
Dresses are so versatile and beautiful. If you opt for a simple cut in a block colour you can accessorise it any way you like and no one will actually notice you wear it often. Many of my clients have rediscovered the simplicity of a dress.
You don’t have to think about what will match. You just put it on, a dash of makeup, a spray of your favourite perfume, a cute sandal and away you go!
Confident, stylish and best of all, easy!
Now, I am going to take a moment to chat about hair. Your hair can make or break your look and it definitely can make you feel very drab or very fab. Neglecting hair maintenance instantly makes your life harder, as it is difficult to style a poor haircut and impossible to hide that regrowth!
So my second piece of advice to look more stylish is: regularly maintain your hair.
2. Instead of hiding it away in a bun//take the time to style your locks to perfection!
It may seem like a lot of effort, but if you have a great haircut and you learn how to style it, you literally feel 100% hotter right away and you haven’t even put your clothes on yet.
So now we have covered the head and the body it is time for our feet to have a makeover. Shoes are the make or break of an outfit. If you are stuck in your $2 thongs, crocs or any other form of plastic shoe then it is time to break the habit and give your clothes a chance to shine.
So my third piece of advice is this: each season purchase new, good quality footwear.
3. Instead of thongs//wear comfortable leather sandals!
Not only will your feet thank you, you will feel liberated as your new shoes will go perfectly with anything you choose to wear day to day!
Now, simple as these steps are, I challenge you to try it!
It is the little things we do daily that make the biggest difference to how we experience our lives.
